The Ram ProMaster offers a diverse range of vehicle options across both its passenger and cargo van platforms. The introduction of their extra high roof Van for 2024 further expands the potential configurations. Our Rear Van Air Conditioning and Heating Systems are precisely customized and sized to complement the design of your specific vehicle. Mounting Options
In the current production model of the Ram ProMaster, there are 3 available mounting locations.
Rear Mount
A rear mount is from the ceiling with air blowing forward throughout the vehicle.
Side Mount
A side mount is from the ceiling to halfway down the driver’s side with air blowing across the vehicle
Front Mount
A front mount is from the ceiling with air blowing rearward throughout the vehicle.
Note: All HVAC units mount to the ceiling’s roof support beams, and DO NOT protrude through the roof therefore there are no holes in the roof that may leak like other systems can.
Types of HVAC Systems
The LS Series
The LS series van air conditioning system stands out as our most widely adopted solution for the Promaster. In a tie-in configuration, it can deliver a formidable 20,000 BTU or 1.7 Tons of cooling and heating. Engineered for longevity, the evaporator unit features a single blower motor with twin high-volume fan wheels, ideal for smaller cargo van applications with well-insulated walls and ceilings.
In its independent configuration, our LS series van air conditioning system, equipped with its own compressor and condenser, takes versatility a step further. With a capacity of up to 32,500 BTU or 2.65 Tons of cooling and heating, and when paired with wall and ceiling insulation, it becomes a viable solution for smaller passenger vans.
Available in both AC and Heat configurations or as an AC-only system, our LS series van air conditioning systems offer flexibility to meet various needs. The full-length modular ducting system is an optional add-on for enhanced functionality, and for systems with heat only, an automatic temperature control system is available as an optional feature. Choose the LS series for a tailored and versatile van air conditioning solution.
Types of HVAC Systems
The KM Series
Our KM series van air conditioning and heating system represents our larger, more robust solution, boasting an impressive capacity of 48,000 BTU or 4 Tons of cooling and heating power. Available exclusively as an independent system, the evaporator/heater unit is meticulously engineered for longevity and reliability, featuring two heavy-duty blower motors with twin high-volume output fan wheels. Complemented by a heavy-duty long-life A/C compressor, this system offers flexibility with your choice of an underbody Air Conditioning condenser or a roof-mounted condenser.
Tailored for medium to large passenger vans or multi-personnel work vehicles, the KM series van air conditioning systems are offered in both AC-only and AC with Heat configurations. A 6 eyeball swiveling air register or the full length modular ducting kit is available for both systems. Additionally, the system includes an automatic temperature controller, with a manual option also available for preference. For optimal performance, we recommend the installation of ceiling and wall insulation with a thermo barrier.

AC Condenser Mounting Options
When installing an independent Rear Air Conditioning System in the Promaster Van, you’ll have the choice of installing the auxiliary condenser unit either on the roof or under the vehicle. Both units feature the same condenser core with a dual fan system. The roof-mounted option comes with a decorative trim cover, but requires hose and wiring access holes through the roof and adds 10 inches to the vehicle’s height. This rooftop unit is ideal for off-pavement use. On the other hand, the underbody condenser tends to operate more efficiently due to its increased airspace without covers. It’s recommended for on-pavement use and not suitable for off-road applications.

Compressors
The A/C compressors and mounting systems we utilize are of exceptional quality, boasting an extended lifespan that exceeds OE specifications. Custom-sized by displacement for each system, they ensure optimal performance and longevity. All our A/C fittings are crafted from plated steel rather than aluminum, ensuring durability and reliability. Our high-quality barrier hose virtually eliminates leaks, contributing to the longevity of the A/C system. It is common for the A/C charge to endure the lifespan of the system itself, underscoring the reliability and longevity of our products.
Multiple Controlling Options
Available controllers
Three different controllers are available for Our Webasto Rear Van Air Conditioning Systems. The NEO-1 model for A/C only systems, the NEO-2 and NEO-2+ for A/C systems with heat.
Neo-1
The NEO-1 controller is a manual fan speed only controller used on with our SL series and KM series systems that do not have heat and require no temp control
Neo-2
The NEO-2 controller gives you fan speed functions and manual temp control that works in conjunction with our LS and KM series systems.
Neo-2+
The NEO-2+ controller is a full function digital automatic temp controller. In manual mode you may select all your desired functions, cool mode, hot mode, fan speeds and interior temperature. In Auto mode it does it all for you with strategically placed temp sensors which allows the system to monitor inside temperature and controls mode functions, compressor operation, heater water flow, fan speeds and more.

Rooftop A/C & Heating
The Coleman commercial line of Rooftop HVAC units serves as an excellent alternative to traditional key-on engine running systems. The Mach 8 commercial units are engineered for durability, ensuring a long service life. With a cooling capacity rated at 15,000 BTU, these units, when paired with an optional heat strip, offer sufficient warmth to counter winter chills. Equipped with a variety of controls, the ceiling air distributor with user-friendly control buttons and Bluetooth capability stands as the most commonly preferred option, providing convenient and efficient temperature management.
Custom Cut Vehicle Insulation
Insulation Packages
Pro Services offers a specialized line of insulation products tailored for vehicle applications. Unlike other products, our insulation kits are precision-cut to match the interior panels and openings of each vehicle model. Free from off-gassing and airborne particulates, our insulation ensures a clean and healthy environment. Crafted from a high-quality woven wool material, our insulation is also mold-resistant, ensuring a clean and healthy interior environment. The 1/2″ thick wall insulation boasts an R4 insulating factor, while the 1″ thick option offers an impressive R8 factor.

Interior Panel Kits
Interior panels provide an excellent opportunity to enhance the aesthetics of your van’s interior while also minimizing the transfer of external temperatures. Crafted with precision, each panel features an integrated air space woven directly into the panel and is complemented by a thermo barrier on the back. This barrier serves a dual purpose, acting as both a vapor barrier to prevent condensation and an insulator to reduce temperature transfer.
With an insulating factor equivalent to R4 per panel, when combined with our insulation kits, your vehicle can achieve an impressive R8 insulation envelope. This combination ensures an optimal interior environment, maintaining comfort regardless of external conditions.
Air Circulation
Roof Venting Systems
Roof vent systems generally operate on low voltage, providing an effective means to circulate air even when the engine is not running. It’s important to note that these systems do require additional battery storage power, which is independent of your engine starting battery.

Our most popular configuration involves a 30-amp shore power inlet connected to a tier 1 breaker panel. This setup not only protects your rooftop unit but also provides an additional breaker for powering essential devices through designated outlets.
